The Whitehall football team bounced back after a tough loss last week with a 47-19 win over Ravenna in West Michigan Conference action on Friday night.

Ravenna opened the scoring in the first quarter on a Zach McCleary touchdown run and led 6-0 after one stanza.

The Vikings, who improved to 4-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play, bounced back in the second quarter and took a 21-12 lead into halftime.

Josh Thommen had a huge night for Whitehall with 17 carries for 151 yards and two touchdowns, while Tylor Russell had 11 carries for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Justin Brown connected with Terrell Harris for a 43-yard touchdown for the Vikings, while Kayleb Venema had a rushing touchdown.

Ravenna was led by Gary Johnson with 19 carries and 92 yards and a touchdown, while Brandon Mills and McCleary each had a rushing touchdown.

The Bulldogs dropped their record to 2-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play. They will host Mason County Central next week.

The Vikings travel to Shelby next Friday.
