The Fruitport volleyball team had to settle for second place in the O-K Black Conference after losing to Jenison in three sets on Thursday in a showdown for the league championship.

The Trojans lost 25-19,25-14, 25-19.

Fruitport finished the conference season with a 9-2 record, one game behind champion Jenison. The Trojans, who will play Spring Lake in the first round of districts on Monday, finished the regular season with a 29-15-2 record.

Jordyn Carlyle led Fruitport against Jenison with nine kills while Rachel Paulsen and Kylie Oberlin had eight apiece. Kaylie Carmean had 26 assists and Trinity Busscher had 19 digs.
