The Kent City football team completed its first undefeated regular season in school history, defeating Tri County 47-19 on the road on Friday night.

The Eagles had 479 yards of offense. Luke Chipman had two rushing touchdowns for Kent City while Gio Weeks, John Meek, Cody Bowers and Enrique Cruz all had one.

Weeks led Kent City with 154 yards and one score on 18 carries while Meek was 4-of-7 passing for 46 yards.

Jake Edgerly led the Eagle defense with an interception while Gavin Mead had five tackles and a fumble recovery.

“We literally made history tonight,” said Kent City head coach Bill Crane. “It’s just a great thing for our town. I was blown away by how many Kent City people made the trip tonight. We got some more goals we want to accomplish, but this is a great start.”

The Eagles will begin the playoffs next weekend against an opponent that will be announced on Sunday night.
