The Montague soccer team roared back on Wednesday to defeat Oakridge 2-1 in the first round of the West Michigan Conference tournament.
Oakridge opened up the scoring with a penalty kick goal in the first half.
However, the lead didn’t last long as Will Heckman found the back of the net on a Matthew Lipka assist to tie the game.
Later in the first half, Moise Darling netted a header off an assist from David Hernandez to give Montague a 2-1 lead it didn’t give up.
