Muskegon Community College volleyball team gets over the 20-win mark

The Muskegon Community College volleyball team got over the 20-victory mark with a pair of wins at its own invitational tournament on Sunday at Mona Shores High School.

The Jayhawks defeated the Lawrence Tech JV (28-26, 22-25, 25-21, 25-22) and Mott Community College (25-13, 25-12, 17-25, 15-25, 15-13).

Robbie Berg and Julie Brown paced the Jayhawks with 42 and 31 kills apiece. Katie Veihl had 34 assists, Sammi Hockstra had 39 digs and kaitlyn Grobowski turned in eight blocks.

MCC is now 21-14 on the sesaon. The Jayhawks will host their final home match of the year on Tuesday against Lake Michigan College at 5 p.m.
