The Reeths-Puffer girls golf team won the first regional championship in program history on Thursday, beating a field of nine other teams in a Division 2 regional tournament at Lincoln Golf Club.

The Rockets shot a team score of 328, four strokes ahead of second-place Forest Hills Northern (332). Forest Hills Central finished third with a 324.

Four of the five Reeths-Puffer golfers finished in the top 10 in the individual competition.

Karina VanDuinen finished second overall with a 79, Karlee Hallberg was third with an 81, Avery Howard was fourth with an 82 and Abby Fansler was seventh with an 86.

Emma Veihl finished 22nd overall for Reeths-Puffer with a 99.

Mona Shores’ Logan Potts qualified for the state finals as an individual by finishing sixth overall in the tournament with an 85.

Mona Shores finished sixth as a team in the regional and did not qualify for the state finals.
