The Reeths-Puffer girls golf team took third place in the Division 2 state finals at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek on Saturday.

Reeths-Puffer finished with a team score of 669, behind state champion Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern (656) and Bloomfield Hills Marian (668).

R-P’s Karina VanDuinen, who was in first place in the individual standings after the first round of the tournament, finished in third place with a two-day score of 152. Teammate Avery Howard finished sixth overall with a score of 155. Rounding out the Rockets’ scorers were Karlee Hallberg (172), Abby Fansler (191) and Emma Veihl (197).

Spring Lake took third place in the Division 3 state finals at Forest Akers West Golf Course at Michigan State University,

The Lakers finished behind state champion Macomb Lutheran North (697) and Grand Rapids South Christian (700).

Hannah Klein was the only Laker to finish in the top 10 with a score of 165. Madelyn Nelson shot a 170, followed by Phoebe Saunders (177), Alana Sprague (197) and Kayla Raschke (234).

In Division 4, North Muskegon brought home a fourth place finish with a score of 716 at Forest Akers East Golf Course. The Norse finished behind state champion Harbor Springs (680), Almont (699) and Jackson Lumen Christi (691).

Abby Grevel led North Muskegon with a score of 165, which was good enough for eighth overall. Rounding out the Norse score card were Lindsay Bliss (169), Mya Gonzalez (187), Georgie Kersman (199) and Sarah Staniforth (194).
