Fox scores late goal as Grand Haven plays to a 2-2 overtime tie with Mattawan

Austin Fox scored a goal with only 1:36 remaining in regulation, giving the Grand Haven hockey team a 2-2 overtime tie with Mattawan on Saturday.

The teams traded goals in the first period, with Grand Haven drawing first blood with a goal by Kyle Eveland (assist Brandon Beeler), and Mattawa answering late in the period with a tally from Jake Kruzich.

Mattawan’s Sam Puzevic scored the lone goal of the second period.

Mattawan was on the verge of a one-goal win when Fox scored the late goal for Grand Haven, with assists from Trevor Kalis and TJ Cunningham.

The overtime period was scoreless.

The Buccaneers are now 0-1-1 on the season.
