The Grant volleyball team came back fro a two-set deficit to beat Sparta and win a Class B district champonship on Thursday night.

After dropping the first sets 18-25 and 20-25, the Tigers bounced back to grab sets three and four 25-14 and 25-23, then won the tie-breaker 15-10.

Taylor Wegener and Kylie Patton pace the Tigers with 19 and 17 kills, respectively. Nicole Whan dished out 51 assists while serving three aces.

Patton racked up 6 blocks, while defensively  Olivia Keelean chipped in 19 digs, Wegener added 18, and both Whan and Jill Arends added 14 digs apiece.

“We believe that you never give up, you stay positive, and you stay strong,” Wegener said afer the match. “Tonight we did exactly that.”

Grant will meet Grand Rapids South Christian in the regional semifinals on Tuesday at Orchard View High School.
