The Grand Haven hockey team picked up two victories in two days with a 5-2 win over Hudsonville on Friday and a 6-0 shutout of Portage Central on Saturday.

Senior Austin Fox was the star on Friday, notching a three-goal hat trick.

Fox started the scoring with a goal in the first period. Trevor Kalis and Cooper Fox assisted on the play..

Alex Kure got his first goal of the season a minute later, with an assist from Ethan Pennington.

Grand Haven scored three times in the second period, with two more goals from Fox to complete his hat trick, and a tally by Pennington, who was assisted by Fox and Kure.

Finn Bylsma was in goal for Grand Haven and earned his fourth win of the season by turning away 30 shots.

Grand Haven completed the weekend with an easy win over  Portage Central.

Brendan Price got his first start of the season in goal and took full advantage, stopping 18 shots to collect the shutout.

Trevor Kalis scored in the first period, with assists from Pennington and TJ Cunningham. Kyle Eveland scored in the second period to give Grand Haven a 2-0 lead. He had assists from Clayton Cooper and Nate Beers.

Austin Fox scored twice in the third period (assists from Kalis and Cooper Fox), and Cooper Fox added a goal for the Bucs.

Grand Haven improved to 5-2-1 on the season.
