The Shelby girls basketball squad cruised past Fremont 47-32 on Monday night in non-league action.

The Tigers jumped out to a 17-6 lead after the first quarter, led 29-14 at halftime and had a 41-22 advantage heading into the final stanza.

Jenny Beckman paced Shelby with 17 points, six rebounds and three assists.

The Tigers were also led by Tori Mussell with 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Jaren Smith chipped in with nine points, three assists and four steals.

The Packers were paced by Calla Miller with 13 points while Anna Patenge grabbed 10 rebounds.

Shelby now has a 2-1 record overall while the Packers are 1-1 on the year.
