Two Montague wrestlers had very good days at the Mark Bosse Invitational at Hart on Saturday.

Matthew Lipka won the 140-pound championship by going 4-0 on the day. He pinned Chris Morrill of Three Rivers in 5:11 in the championship match.

Brendan Kahl finished second in the 171-pound class. He won two matches before falling to Kanin Witte of Hesperia in the title match.

Three Holton wrestlers had multiple wins in the tournament. Joe Crowell and Garrett Lulofs went 3-2 while Christian Brooks went 2-2.

Reeths-Puffer, Spring Lake compete in Grand Haven Duals

The Reeths-Puffer wrestling team went 3-2 at Saturday’s Grand Haven Duals team tournament.

The Rockets lost to Mendon 36-22, beat Spring Lake 71-12, beat Fruitport 50-12, lost to Lakeview 43-21 and beat Grand Haven 45-33.

Jacob Blawat (112) and Hunter McCall (189) both went 5-0 for the Rockets. Posting 4-1 records were Caleb Jensen (125), Thade Rodosa (140), Kayden Cilla (152) and Brett Thomas (285).

Spring Lake had a tough day at the tournament, posting an 0-5 record. The Lakers fell to Battle Creek Lakeview 72-9, Reeths-Puffer 71-12, Mendon 69-10, Grand Haven 54-30 and Fruitport 59-24.

Sam France and Jack Parker posted 4-1 records for Spring Lake while Hunter Rose went 3-2.
