The Holton boys basketball team used a big fourth quarter to down Tri-County 50-33 in a CSAA game on Tuesday.

Holton, now 4-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play, led just 33-26 after three quarters, but outscored the Vikings 17-7 in the final eight minutes.

Nathan Slowik led the Red Devils with 18 points. Dalton Giddings added eight points along with 13 rebounds. Aaron Herron also had eight points.

FREMONT 71, WHITEHALL 54 – The Packers dominated the second half to knock off the Vikings in a non-league meeting of two good teams. Fremont led 35-32 at halftime, then outscored Whitehall 17-11 and 19-11 in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. Logan Karnemaat scored 17 poiints to lead Fremont. Bailey Baddis led a strong bench effort for the Packers, scoring 15 points. Calvin Miller added 14. Both teams are now 8-2 on the season.

TRAVERSE CITY CENTRAL 41, LUDINGTON 33 – The Orioles fell behind early and could not complete a comeback. Traverse City Central jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead and had a 13-4 edge at the end of one quarter. Ludington briefly took the lead in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t seal the deal. Will Sadler scored 10 points to lead the Orioles, who are now 8-2 on the season.

BIG RAPIDS 61, ORCHARD VIEW 42 – The Cardinals came out of the gates slowLY, trailing 17-6 at the end of the first quarter and 27-9 at the half. In the second half Orchard View played evenly with Big Rapids but could not mount a comeback. Edmari Mitchell led the Cardinals with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Brady Bowen added nine points.

FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 54, WELLSPRING ACADEMY 52 – The Eagles (3-5, 3-2) lost an early 15-point lead before regrouping for a conference win. Foul trouble was an issue for the Eagles early in the second quarter and allowed Wellspring to mount a comeback. Ben Zelenka led FCC with 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Zach Zehr scored 17 points and had six assists while Jacob McFarren scored 11 points and had 14 boards.
