The Fremont boys basketball team had a huge fourth quarter to upset previously unbeaten Big Rapids 54-49 on Friday in CSAA conference action.

The loss snapped Big Rapids’ 34-game conference winning streak.

The Packers (3-2, 2-1) trailed 15-9 after the first quarter, 28-23 at the half and 41-34 entering the final quarter.

Fremont overtook the Cardinals with a 20-8 advantage in the fourth. The Packers took the lead with 1:30 remaining and held on for the comeback victory.

Calvin Miller scored 18 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and blocked five shots for Fremont. Bailey Baddis netted 12 points and Logan Karnemaat scored 10 to go with seven rebounds and five blocks.

KENT CITY 49, LAKEVIEW 32 – Kent City kept its unbeaten record intact with a win over Lakeview in conference play. The Eagles (7-0, 3-0) outscored Lakeview 24-9 in the first half to take control of the contest. Eli Carlson led the way with 19 points and Fraser Wilson scored 17 for Kent City.

O-K BLACK

MUSKEGON 60, FRUITPORT 28 – The Big Reds held Fruitport scoreless in the first quarter and cruised to the conference victory. Muskegon improved to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the league while the Trojans fell to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the O-K Black. Ali’Vonta Wallace led Muskegon with 11 points and nine rebounds. Vern Nash and Billie Roberts each added 10. Aric Stewart led Fruitport with 10 points.

KENOWA HILLS 51, REETHS-PUFFER 37 – The Rockets fell behind 10-2 after one quarter, then were outscored 20-13 in the third in their O-K Black Conference opener. Josh Jordon scored 11 points for Reeths-Puffer, which fell to 3-4 overall.

JENISON 59, MONA SHORES 54 – Jarvis Walker scored a game-high 27 points and had four assists for Mona Shores in the Sailors’ O-K Black Conference loss. Davarius Carter added eight points for Mona Shores while James Gilbert has seven points and three steals.
