Aubrey Goorman’s 24 points, eight rebounds and four assists led the Western Michigan Christian girls basketball team to a 67-49 win over Muskegon Heights on Friday in a Lakes 8 contest.

The Warriors, who are now 6-1 overall and 3-1 in league play, gained their winning margin by outscoring the Tigers 17-8 in the first quarter and 14-7 in the third.

Taylor Folkema added 10 points for WMC while Anna Sytsema had nine points and nine rebounds.

Rahjanique Anderson led the Tigers with 21 points while Jakayla Anderson scored 14.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 57, ORCHARD VIEW 23 – Talia Tyler paced the Crusaders with 21 points while Abby Zelenka added eight. Muskegon Catholic led 8-6 after the first quarter, 26-10 at halftime and had a 42-14 advantage after the third quarter. The Cardinals were led by De’Nyah Oakes with eight points.

LUDINGTON 36, MANISTEE 29 –  A strong defensive effort and 11 points from Mackenzie Howe helped the Orioles pick up a victory despite scoring only two fourth quarter points.
