The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team held on to defeat Mid Michigan 78-77 on Wednesday night.

The Jayhawks are now 6-1 in league play and 9-8 overall on the season.

MCC lead 41-34 at the halftime break led by Daryl Kirkland, who nailed four baskets beyond the three-point line.

The Jayhawks were paced by Kirkland with 28 points, while Josh Smith added 14 points along with eight rebounds.

Sergio Diaz chipped in with 13 points for MCC and Dequaveon Stuckey contributed with 12 points and six assists.
