The Muskegon Heights boys basketball team opened an 18-point halftime lead and cruised to a 62-47 victory over Western Michigan Christian in a Lakes 8 Conference matchup on Friday.

The Tigers led 17-7 after one quarter and 35-17 at halftime.

Keishon Watson led Muskegon Heights with 16 points and 14 rebounds. The Tigers improved to 1-6 overall and 1-1 in the Lakes 8.

Tyler Vanbeek, Brant Zeerip and Tyler Somers all had 12 points for WMC, which fell to 3-3 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

LUDINGTON 75, MANISTEE 36 – The Orioles (4-1, 3-0) put on a show offensively to score a league win. Lucian Chasse scored 11 of his team-high 18 points in the first quarter as Ludington took a 33-10 lead. The Orioles led 49-20 at the half. Josh Laman added 17 for Ludington and Jack Sandstedt scored 14.

MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 57, ORCHARD VIEW 44 – Jared Dugener had 21 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Cam Martinez added 11 points, 10 rebounds and three assists for the Crusaders. Jordan Potts chipped in 10 points for the winners. Jaylin Briggs led Orchard View with 24 points and Keontae Barnes had eight.
