Mona Shores girls basketball squad earns first win, defeats Jenison 48-34

The Mona Shores girls basketball team earned its first victory of the season, defeating Jenison 48-34 in an OK Black Conference game on Friday night.

The Sailors, who outscored Jenison by a 30-15 margin during the second half, were led by Nia Miskel with 17 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Ryleigh Wehler added 13 points and six rebounds for Mona Shores while Veronica Kastelic chipped in with eight points, six assists and seven rebounds.

The Sailors are now 1-5 on the season and 1-0 in league play.
