The Whitehall boys basketball team used a big first quarter to top visiting Shelby 59-27 in West Michigan Conference action on Tuesday night.
The Vikings took a 25-7 first quarter run and then increased their lead to 36-11 at halftime.
Steven Learman scored 17 points to lead Whitehall while Brandon Rake added 13 points and eight rebounds.
Logan Claeys led Shelby with seven points and Isaiah Frye grabbed six rebounds.
