Wrestling roundup: Fremont takes second, Spring Lake goes 2-3 at Wyoming tournament

The Fremont wrestling team finished as runner-up at the Wyoming Invitational on Saturday with a 4-1 record.

The Packers defeated Wyoming 78-3, Wyoming Lee 74-3, Kelloggsville 66-13 and Muskegon 82-0. Their only loss was to Byron Center, 45-31.

Cade Breuker, Trey Breuker, Parker Dalson, Elijah Rough and Cody Routley all posted perfect 5-0 records on the day.

Matthew Halasinski, Chase Knudsen, Kyler Kolk and Chaz Wheater finished with records of 4-1 while Matthew Long posted a 3-1 mark.

Spring Lake competed in the same tournament finishing the day with a 2-3 record.

The Lakers defeated Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian 39-18 and Maple Valley 43- 29. They lost to Byron Center 75-6, Sparta 45-31, and Kelloggsville 45-33.

Jack Parker, Jamie Holt, and Hunter Rose went 4-1 on the day while Max Montgomery, Caleb Swenor, and Dylan Henshaw were 3-1.
