Seventeen points from Alyza Winston propelled the Muskegon Big Reds to a 47-38 victory over Reeths-Puffer on Friday in O-K Black Conference girls basketball action.

The Big Reds started out hot, leading 14-7 after one quarter and 30-18 at halftime. The Rockets cut into the lead in the third quarter and trailed by just six heading into the fourth.

Muskegon put the clamps down on defense in the fourth quarter, allowing just six points on their way to the victory.

Daz’Sha Day added 12 points for the Big Reds. Lauren Ross led the Rockets in scoring with 19 points.
