The Fremont boys basketball team and Logan Karnemaat didn’t let injuries stop them from topping visiting Central Montcalm 69-56 in a CSAA matchup on Tuesday.

The Packers were without big scorers Calvin Miller and Riley Krim, but Karnemaat stepped in with a triple double to lift Fremont (12-3, 9-2).

The 6-8 Karnemaat had 12 points, 15 rebounds, 11 blocked shots and four assists in the win.

Fremont jumped out to a 10-0 lead to start the game and increased its advantage to 53-31 in the third quarter. Central Montcalm had a 10-0 run to close out the third, but the Packers settled down and pushed their advantage back up to 15 points.

Wyatt Kaastra and Ben Schmidt both scored career-high 16 points for Fremont while Carter Moon and Bailey Baddis both added 10.

COOPERSVILLE 37, SPRING LAKE 34 – The defensive battle didn’t go the Lakers’ way. Spring Lake led 34-31 with one minute to play before the Broncos went on a 7-0 run to steal the victory.  Spring Lake trailed 15-13 at halftime and led 26-23 after three quarters. Spring Lake (13-4, 7-3) was led by Sam Johnson and Jack VanWingen with nine points each while Kyle Wiersma was tough on the boards with eight rebounds.

FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 52, ALGOMA CHRISTIAN 34 – The Eagles jumped out to an early lead and led by as many as 24 points in the third quarter. Zach Zehr led Fruitport Calvary with 14 points while Jacob McFarren added 13 points and nine rebounds. Luke Anhalt contributed a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles.
