The Hesperia girls basketball squad earned a win against rival Holton 36-29 on Friday in a CSAA contest.

The Panthers closed out the game strong, scoring 15 fourth quarter points to pull away for the victory.

Hesperia trailed 15-14 at halftime and led 21-20 after three quarters, then closed the game with a 15-9 fourth-quarter run.

Emily Bayle led the Panthers (4-10, 1-5) with 12 points, nine rebounds and five steals while Makenna Swisher added 10 points.

CSAA

FREMONT 45, REED CITY 44 – The Packers outscored Reed City by a slim 21-20 margin during the second half and won the contest on a bucket from Anna Patenge with 40 seconds remaining. Fremont (8-7, 4-5) was led by Paige Vandenberg with 10 points while Chloe Shriver added eight. Patenge finished the contest with seven points while grabbing 14 rebounds.

KENT CITY 70, WHITE CLOUD 24 – The Eagles jumped out to a 37-5 lead before taking a 56-15 advantage at halftime. Kenzie Bowers and Jenna Harrison led the Eagles (12-3, 7-0) with 25 and 23 points, respectively, while Zara Weber added 11.

LUDINGTON 54, MUSKEGON HEIGHTS 26 – Great team defense led the Orioles to a Lakes 8 conference victory Friday night. Mackenzie Luce led the defensive attack with four steals for Ludington while Mackenzie Howe scored 19 points.

MANISTEE 69, ORCHARD VIEW 25 – The Chippewas led 22-10 after the first quarter, 31-15 at halftime and 53-23 at the end of the third frame. The Cardinals (0-11, 0-10) were led in scoring by Christal Booker with 10 points while Allie TenHove grabbed 10 rebounds.

ALLIANCE LEAGUE

FRUITPORT CALVARY 53, HOLLAND CALVARY 12 – The Eagles blanked Holland Calvary 13-0 after the first quarter and 39-0 through halftime. Fruitport Calvary has now won 39 consecutive league games and is 12-3 on the season and 5-0 in league play. Kelsey Richards paced the Eagles with 19 points and five assists while Lizzie Cammenga added 14 points. Brionna Johnson chipped in with 12 points and 20 rebounds.
