Tianna Smith scored her lone bucket of the night just in time for Montague on Thursday. Smith dropped in a jump shot with seven seconds left to lift Montague to a 39-38 win over Mason County Central.

Montague jumped out with a 12-2 first quarter run and built a 20-6 at halftime lead. But MCC chipped away at the Wildcats lead with a 15-10 third quarter run and a 17-9 fourth quarter furry before Smith was able to see Montague through to the finish. 

The Wildcats were led by Allyssa Bobian with 11 points, five rebounds and
three assists while Grace Meacham added 10 points and six rebounds.

The Wildcats are now 8-7 overall on the season.

NORTH MUSKEGON 38, WHITEHALL 36 – The Norse held on after leading through three quarters and withstanding a Vikings comeback in the fourth. Whitehall outscored North Muskegon 21-13 in the final stanza but could not hold off the Norse. Chandler Falkowski led North Muskegon with a game-high 15 points while Josie Edick added eight points and Ellie Hayhurst chipped in seven. Whitehall’s Greta Hosticka scored 10 points and Kacy Jeffries finished with six.

PENTWATER 57, WALKERVILLE 49 – The Falcons leveraged double-doubles from Madi Wagner and Taylor Wilkinson and a 13-6 second quarter edge to top northern rival Walkerville. Pentwater led 25-16 at halftime, played even though the third and managed to hold off a 20-point fourth quarter by the Wildcats. Wagner paced Pentwater with 15 points and 11 rebounds while Wilkinson tallied 14 points and 14 rebounds. Terra Cluchey contributed with 12 points for the Falcons and Jordan Miller-Rowe had nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks.
