The Spring Lake girls basketball squad avenged an early season loss against Grand Rapids Catholic Central with a 53-44 win on Friday night in an O-K Blue Conference game.

The Lakers are now 8-6 on the season and 5-3 in league play.

Jenna Core paced Spring Lake with 19 points and six rebounds while Lindsey Paggeot added eight points and five assists.

MUSKEGON 75, FRUITPORT 23 – Alyza Winston led the Big Reds with 34 points, nine rebounds and nine assists. Muskegon jumped out to a 24-6 lead after the first quarter and cruised from there. Daz’sha Day added 13 points, nine assists and eight rebounds for the Big Reds while Kailyn Nash had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

JENISON 46, MONA SHORES 36 – Mona Shores led 7-6 after the first quarter and 22-17 at halftime, then trailed 28-26 heading into the final quarter. The difference in the game was an 18-10 Jenison edge in the fourth quarter. The Sailors were led by Veronica Kastelic and Julia Tierman with seven points each, while Justice Porter-Harris added six points and five rebounds.

EAST KENTWOOD 61, GRAND HAVEN 37- The Bucs struggled offensively on Friday night. Grand Haven trailed 31-20 at halftime and 45-29 heading into the fourth quarter. Alli Keyser led the Bucs (10-5, 4-3) with 13 points and six assists while Sophie Mariani added eight points and five rebounds.

REETHS-PUFFER 37, KENOWA HILLS 24 – The Rockets trailed 15-14 at halftime, then allowed just 10 second half points to pull away. Lauren Ross paced Reeths-Puffer with 15 points while Bridget McHugh added 12.
