The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team had a tough time with Ancilla College on Wednesday, dropping a 113-89 decision to the second-ranked team in the nation.

The Jayhawks only trailed 48-45 at halftime, and managed to take a lead with about 12 minutes to go in the second half.

But MCC was doomed by cold shooting, hitting only 32 percent of its shots in the second half, including only 12 percent from three-point range.

Daryl Kirkland II led the Jayhawks with 26 points, Dylan Mulder added 18 while Sergio Diaz registered 15.

The Jayhawks are now 9-12 overall and 6-4 in the Western Conference of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association.
