Josh Laman poured in 29 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Ludington over Muskegon Heights 53-46 in Lakes 8 Conference action on Friday.
Laman opened up the fourth quarter with back-to-back 3’s to give the Orioles (9-4, 6-4) a 44-35 lead that held up in the close contest. Jayden Hathaway added 11 points for Ludington.
Daquan Walker led Muskegon Heights with 14 points and Keishon Watson added 10.
WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 45, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 34 – The Warriors (8-5, 6-1) led 26-25 to start the fourth quarter, then erupted for 19 points to seal the win. WMC’s Tyler VanBeek scored seven of his nine points in the fourth quarter while Brant Zeerip drained three 3-pointers to finish with nine points for WMC. Andre Watson led MCC with 15 points and Jared Dugener finished with 13.
ORCHARD VIEW 52, MANISTEE 44 – Ke’ontae Barnes scored 22 points to lead the Cardinals to a win. Orchard View trailed 10-5 after the first quarter and 18-15 at halftime. The Cardinals gained the lead late in the third quarter and increased their advantage in the fourth. Jaylin Briggs added 11 points for Orchard View.
