The Fargo Force failed to score on the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Friday night – but more than made up for it on Saturday.

The Force broke open a tied game with five unanswered goals and skated off with a 6-1 victory over the Lumberjacks in the finale of the two-game weekend series at Scheels Arena in Fargo.

The loss ended a two-game winning streak for the Jacks, who are now 19-16-2 on the season. They will return to action next Friday and Saturday with a pair of home games against Madison.

Fargo took a 1-0 lead with a first-period goal by Mark Senden. Muskegon tied the score on a goal by Egor Afanasyev, with an assist from Marc Del Gaizo.

But the Force got a goal from A.J. Drabot and led 2-1 after the first period. They added second-period goals by Grant Hebert, Spencer Meier and Ty Farmer, then topped things off with a third-period tally from Ben Meyers.

Muskegon goalie Keegan Karki had a rough night, giving up five goals on 33 shots in two periods. He was relieved in the third period by Zach Borgiel.

Fargo outshot Muskegon 47-32. The Force connected on 4 of 10 power play opportunities, while the Jacks were scoreless in six tries.
