The Pentwater girls basketball team could not find the means to top Brethren in a tough 42-39 loss in West Michigan D conference action on Monday night.

The Falcons (13-6, 11-2) fell behind 12-9 after the first quarter and trailed 23-19 at half. Pentwater was able to pull within two points to trail 29-27 to start the fourth quarter but was outscored 13-12 in the final eight minutes.

Jhordan Miller-Rowe led Penwater with 12 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals while Madi Wagner scored 11 points. Taylor Wilkinson added five points, eight rebounds and four assists and Julia Hall had four points and five steals.

The Falcons look to secure a conference title on Thursday when they face Big Rapids Crossroads Academy.
