Ravenna uses first quarter defense to stop Hart in WMC boys hoops


The Ravenna boys basketball team held on to a 44-38 win over Hart in a West Michigan Conference matchup on Thursday. 

The Bulldogs held Hart to just two first-quarter points and had seven players score in the game. Ravenna led 21-17 at halftime and 36-27 going into the final quarter.

Jake Emery led Ravenna with 13 points while Jacob May and Ryan Osmer each scored eight points. Josh VanderWoude and Nick Lieffers scored six points apiece.

Hart received 12 points from both Angel Salgado and Alex Kempker who also grabbed 9 rebounds. Dustin Klotz added 10 points and eight rebounds and O’rian Torres chipped in four points for the Pirates.
