Josh Laman poured in 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Ludington boys basketball team to a hard-fought 34-32 win over neighborhood rival Mason County Central in non-league action on Tuesday.

Ludington (12-5) led 14-4 after the first quarter and 23-12 at the half, but the Spartans climbed back in the final two quarters.

MCC scored a bucket to pull within two points with under a minute left. Ludington worked on the clock, drew a foul, went to the line and missed a free throw with eight seconds left, but Laman grabbed the rebound, allowing the Orioles to preserve the win.

Jeffery Carrier led the Spartans (11-6) with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

NORTH MUSKEGON 52, HESPERIA 35 – The Norse (16-2) led 18-5 after the first quarter and never looked back. TJ McKenzie paced North Muskegon with 21 points while Eric Rypstra and John Hayhurst added eight points apiece. Jacob Klemundt paced Hesperia (3-15) with 11 points while sophomore Logan Balkema had his best game of the season with a team-leading 11 rebounds.

MONTAGUE 71, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 42 – Sebastian Archer scored 21 points to lead the Wildcats to an easy victory. Montague (11-6) led 20-14 after the first quarter and 36-21 at halftime. Kenyan Johnston added 15 points for the Wildcats, while Hunter Mosher chipped in with eight points.

WHITEHALL 55, HOLTON 37 – Brandon Rake had a double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) to lead the Vikings to a victory. Terrell Harris added 13 points and eight rebounds. Dalton Giddings scored 11 points for the Red Devils.

RAVENNA 29, WHITE CLOUD 18 – The Bulldogs claimed the home victory in a defensive battle with the Indians. The game was tied 8-8 after one quarter before Ravenna slowly pulled away. Ryan Osmer paced Ravenna with nine points while Jacob May added eight points and six rebounds.
