The Montague boys basketball squad knocked off North Muskegon 49-48 in a West Michigan Conference game on Friday night.

The Wildcats, who are now 10-6 on the season and 8-5 in league play, were led by Hunter Mosher with 19 points while Sebastian Archer added 18.

Montague led 31-21 at halftime, nailing seven three-point baskets during the first two quarters and held on to the lead with made free throws down the stretch.

The Norse (14-2, 12-1) attempted to remain unbeaten in league play but missed on a 30-foot shot at the buzzer.

North Muskegon was led by T.J. McKenzie with 23 points.

WHITEHALL 72, HART 68 – Brandon Rake poured in 27 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Vikings to a victory. Hart led 14-10 after the first quarter but Whitehall took a 31-29 lead into the halftime break. The Vikings extended their lead to nine points at the end of the third quarter and fought off a Hart comeback in the fourth. Angel Salgato led Hart with 29 points, including eight three-point baskets, while Dustin Klotz added 17 points.

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 63, SHELBY 35 – The Spartans led 31-27 at halftime and the defense held Shelby to eight points during the second half. Jeffery Carrier led Mason County Central (11-6, 8-5) with 18 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists. Tyler Bromley added 14 points for the Spartans and Ian Grey scored 12. Shelby (3-13, 3-10) was led by Tyler Schouten with 12 points and Ryan Rabe with 11.
