Tyler Bromley’s 26 points helped lead the Mason County Central boys basketball team over Shelby 71-45 on Wednesday in a Class C district semifinal game.

The Spartans jumped out to a 15-8 lead after the first quarter, and outscored the Tigers 23-9 during the second stanza to take a 38-17 advantage at halftime.

Mason County Central (14-7) kept that 21-point lead after the third quarter, leading 56-35 heading into the fourth before completing the victory.

Along with Bromley’s strong output, Jeffery Carrier added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Spartans.

The Tigers, who finished their season with a 5-16 record, were led by Tyler Schouten with 10 points.

Mason County Central will face the White Cloud on Friday in the district finals at Shelby High School at 6:00 p.m.
