The Muskegon Catholic boys basketball team booked their ticket to a Class D district final game after defeating Fruitport Calvary Christian 62-50 on Wednesday in a district semifinal contest.

The Crusaders led 14-11 after the first stanza and pushed that lead to double digits at the break, leading 33-19.

Muskegon Catholic added to the lead in the third and led 49-34 heading into the fourth.

The Eagles cut the lead to nine in the fourth, but weren’t able to make a big enough run to complete a comeback.

Jared Dugener led the Crusaders with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds while Andre Watson added 19 points and five assists.

The Eagles were paced by Luke Anhalt with 16 points and 20 rebounds while Zach Zehr and Ben Zelenka each added 14 points.

The Crusaders will face Muskegon Heights on Friday at Muskegon Catholic Central High School in the district finals.
