Mona Shores and Muskegon Catholic squared off in a backyard baseball matchup on Saturday with the Crusaders coming out on top, 13-7.

A seven-run sixth inning lifted MCC who trailed 7-3 through five innings. The Crusaders added three more runs in the seven to seal the victory.

Riley St. Amour posted the win on the mound for the Crusaders (4-1) and Heath Cory grabbed the save.

Jackson Riegler, Josh Holden and Navarre Klint all had two hits for the winners.

Matt Martin led Mona Shores (4-4) with three hits and an RBI.

TRAVERSE CITY ST. FRANCISĀ 6, MONA SHORES 4 – The Sailors had the bases loaded in the seventh inning but Tyler Campbell was robbed on a diving catch by the TC left fielder. Max Spagnuolo took the loss on the mound for Mona Shores, throwing all seven innings while giving up three earned runs. Kolbe Trovinger led the Sailors with a single, two walks and two runs.

TRAVERSE CITY ST. FRANCIS 5, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC 0 – Traverse City’s Casey Peterson shut down MCC hitters with nine strikeouts over five inngs. Pitcher Nolan Convertini took the loss for MCC.

PENTWATER 5-1, HART 3-9 – Glen Miller pitched the win in Game 1 for Pentwater. Hart offense was led by Seth Andritsis and Alec Kempker with two hits each. In Game 2, Kempker opened up Pirate scoring with a two-run home run in the first inning. Andritsis added two hits in the Hart win.

FRIDAY
GRANDVILLE 6-7, MONA SHORES 1-3 – Austin Flowers hit a double in Game 1 and Kolbe Trovinger had a double and two RBI in Game 2.
