The Muskegon Community College baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-2 loss to Kalamazoo Valley Community CollegeĀ on Tuesday.

MCC struggled on offense, collecting just three hits. Brett Veltema, Mitchell Wilson, and Collin Houseman each had hits for the Jayhawks.

The Jayhawks showed more fight in Game 2 before losing 6-5.

MCC fell behind 4-0, took a one-run lead in the top of the sixth, but lost it in the bottom of the inning.

The top hitters for the Jayhawks were Nathan Bonter and Brett Veltema Luis Suarez pitched strong in relief.

MCC fell to 13-12 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
