Pitchers Jake Hanson and Jeremy Karthan combined to toss a shutout on Friday, leading the Muskegon Community College baseball team to a 1-0 win over the Cornerstone College JV in the first game of a doubleheader.

Hanson started and pitched four scoreless innings. He gave up three hits and struck out five. Jake Soules led the MCC offense with two hits.

The Jayhawks completed the sweep with a 6-1 win in Game 2.

Tyson Seymour started and got the win, giving up one run on three hits over four innings while striking out six with no walks. Jared Wierengo and Andrew Tokarz finished off in relief.

Soules and John Henry each had two hits for MCC, which improved to 22-15 on the season.
