The West Michigan Whitecaps wrapped up their five game series with Lansing on Sunday by splitting a doubleheader. Lansing won Game 1 of the doubleheader 1-0, while West Michigan took Game 2 by a score of 3-2.

In Game 1, Whitecaps starting pitcher Eudis Idrogo took the loss while allowing one run on five hits. Idrogo also stuck out five batters and walked two.

Offensively, West Michigan was limited to two hits on the day. Brady Policlli and Garrett McCain had the lone hits for West Michigan.

In Game 2, West Michigan fell behind 2-0 after one inning but two runs in the third and one run in the fourth helped the Whitecaps get the comeback victory.

Alexis Garcia led the Whitecaps in Game 2 with two hits and a RBI while Luke Burch and Dylan Rosa each had one RBI.

Reliever Oswald Castillo picked up his third win of the season, improving his record to 3-0. Castillo struck out three while pitching three clean innings on Sunday. Wladimir Pinto picked up his fourth save of the season, allowing one hit, walking one batter and striking out batter in an inning of work.

West Michigan is now 14-9 on the season and sits 1 and ½ games behind Lansing for first place in the Midwest League Eastern Division.

The Whitecaps will travel to Peoria on Tuesday to begin a six game road trip at 7:05 p.m.
