The Fruitport baseball squad cruised past Grand Rapids Union 12-2 in O-K Black Conference action on Thursday.

Lucas Kleyn pitched the win for the Trojans, throwing three innings and allowing two runs on four hits and striking out four Red Hawk batters.

Kleyn also helped his cause at the plate, tallying two hits and driving in two runners while Nick Kleinhecksel added three RBIs.

NORTHPOINTE CHRISTIAN 5, MONTAGUE 4- Braden Johnson toed the rubber for the Wildcats, pitching three innings allowing four earned runs on five hits while striking out two. Johnny Monette paced the Wildcat hitters with a single and two RBIs while Luke Marsh added a single and an RBI. The Wildcats are now 5-5 on the season.

HESPERIA 1-10, RAVENNA 4-8 – Hesperia and Ravenna each won a game of its doubleheader on Thursday. Scott Peters toed the rubber for the Panthers in Game 1, throwing four innings and allowing two hits while striking out three batters. Zach Young led the Panthers at the plate going 1-for-2 with a single and a run scored. In Game 2, Andrew Fredrickson grabbed the win for the Panthers, going six innings and allowing three earned runs on four hits. Pacing the Panthers hitters was Riese Wygant, going 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. The Panthers now have an 8-7 record on the year.

MASON COUNTY CENTRAL 8-12, HART 2-1 – Hunter White toed the rubber for the win in Game 1 for the Spartans, giving up two runs on four hits and striking out five Pirates. White helped his cause driving in two runners while Ethan Johnson added two RBIs as well. In Game 2, Ian Grey was also able to shine at the mound and at the plate, striking out 11 pirate batters while also driving in three runs. Bruce Banks added two RBIs as well. The Spartans move to 3-7 on the season and grab their first two conference victories, moving to 2-6 on the year.
