After losing its first 12 games of the season, the Fruitport baseball team is suddenly on a roll.

The Trojans earned their first victory of the season on Monday with a 10-0 victory over Coopersville.

Pitcher Lucas Kleyn got the win, tossing six innings and allowing one hit and no walks with four strikeouts.

The Trojans piled up 11 hits. Kleyn, Jakob Carlisle, Nick Kleinheksel and Hunter Gannon each had multiple his for Fruitport..

Fruitport made it three wins in a row on Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of Grand Rapids Union in O-K Black Conference play.

Parker Tawney pitched a complete game one-hitter in a 7-1 win in the opener. He struck out 12. Sam Steinhauer and Kleinheksel had two hits each for Fruitport.

In the nightcap, Logan Wadland pitched the win with five strong innings and seven punch-outs. Shamari Pollard and Dawson Beaudry led the Trojans at the dish in Game 2.

Fruitport is now 3-13 overall and 2-9 in conference play.
