The Fruitport Calvary Christian girls soccer team overcame an early deficit and defeated Kalamazoo Heritage Christian 4-1 Friday in a non-league game.

Heritage Christian scores first, then Fruitport Calvary’s Emily Wesner scored (assist by Erynn Fullmer) to tie the contest. Alex Assaad added an unassisted first-half goal to put the Eagles up 2-1 at halftime.

Fullmer made it 3-1 with a second-half goal, with an assist from Assaad. Goalkeeper Reagan Payton stopped a penalty kick to preserve the two-goal lead, then Wesner scored her second goal, with an assist from Bree Johnson.
