Fruitport girls soccer team cruises past Coopersville, advances to Div. 2 district finals

The Fruitport girls soccer team advanced to the Division 2 district finals after beating Coopersville 5-1 on Thursday in semifinal action.

Ellie Fisher opened the scoring out in the first half from a Maddie Wescott assist to go up 1-0.

Isabelle Raven connected with Fisher to start the second half to increase Fruitport’s lead to 2-0.

Goals from Lauren Peterson and Fisher pushed the lead to 4-0 and pull away for the win.

The Trojans will face the Spring Lake on Saturday in the Division 2 district finals.
