The Montague softball team won its seventh straight game with a 16-4 victory over Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian on Thursday.

The non-league game was tied 4-4 in the third inning, then the Wildcats exploded for 12 runs in the fourth to claim the win. Montague’s big winning was fueled by Kat Moreau, who hit a grand slam for her first career homer. She finished 4-for-4 at the plate with six RBIs.

Madison Carroll also had four hits and got the win on the mound, scattering three hits and striking out nine in four innings.

Montague is now 7-2 on the season.
