Nate Bonter’s 3-run home run in the first inning started off Muskegon Community College’s sweep of Cleary University’s JV squad on Monday. The Jayhawks won 16-2 and 14-0.

The Jayhawks collected 11 hits as a team in the opener as Mitchell Wilson, Brady Keur, Jonas Smith, Collin Houseman and Bonter ad two hits apiece.

In Game 2, MCC tallied 16 hits as Brett Veltema led with three hits that included a solo home run. Tyson Seymour hits a 3-run home run and Collin Houseman added a solo shot of his own.

MCC (24-15) travels to Grand Rapids today to face Calvin College at 3 p.m.
