The Spring Lake softball team opened Division 2 district tournament play with a 15-0 win over Coopersville on Tuesday.

The Lakers scored 13 runs in the second inning to secure the victory.

Jenna Core paced Spring Lake with three hits while Lauren Hellman, Madelyn Nelson, Lauren Somers and Kileah Rymal each added two.

Laker pitcher Leah Vaughan notched the win, throwing a one-hitter and striking out four batters.

The Lakers, who are 36-0 on the season, will host Fruitport in the Division 2 district semifinals.

MONTAGUE 18, NORTH MUSKEGON 8 – The Wildcats were led offensively by Kat Moreau with three hits and three RBIs while Bailey Belinger, Madison Carroll and Leah Webber added two hits and two RBIs each. Carroll pitched the win for Montague, striking out six batters. The Wildcats will face WMCC on Saturday in a Division 3 district semifinal.

FREMONT 19, LUDINGTON 4 – Anna Petenge picked up the win for the Packers, striking out four batters. Rhi Pafford led the Fremont offense with three hits, three runs and three RBIs while Eryn Bellenan added two runs and two hits.

The Orioles were led by Taylor Makowicki with two hits and two runs, while Saige Phelps added a hit and two RBIs and Bailee Wysong chipped in with a hit and two runs.

The Packers will face Big Rapids on Saturday in the Division 2 district semifinals.

MONA SHORES 15, MUSKEGON 0 – Grace Hall, Madison Sewick and Veronica Kastelic led the Sailors with two hits apiece while Madison Van Etten pitched the victory. Mona Shores is now 24-14 on the season and will face Holland West Ottawa on Saturday in Division 1 district semifinals.

HART 5, WMCC 0 – The Pirates were paced by Hailey Westerbeek with three hits while Nicole Rockwell picked up the win, allowing eight hits and striking out two batters. WMCC was led offensively by Catherine Bradford-Royle with three hits while Stephanie Weesies added two.
