Kylie Gould had a big night on Thursday, leading the Holton softball team to a 13-5 and 10-0 sweep of North Muskegon in non-league softball action.

Gould had three hits, including a homer, in Game 1. Haylee Brant got the win on the mound.

Gould made the difference with her arm in the second game, pitching a shutout with seven strikeouts. Morgan Morat led the Holton offense with three hits.

The Red Devils improved to 24-5 on the season.

O-K RED

GRAND HAVEN 13, EAST KENTWOOD 7 – The Bucs piled up 22 hits in the conference victory.

Madison Shumaker led the way at the plate for the Bucs, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs, while Kaelyn Stafford went 4-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.

O-K BLUE

SPRING LAKE 6, COMSTOCK PARK 0 – Leah Vaughn struck out 12 to lead the undefeated Lakers to the conference victory.

Madalyn Nelson paced the Lakers’ offense with four hits and three runs while Alicia Mumby added two hits and two RBIs.

Spring Lake improved to 25-0 overall and 15-0 in O-K Blue conference play.

NON-LEAGUE

MONA SHORES 12, ZEELAND WEST 0 – The Sailors combined for three home runs en route to the victory.

Taylor Dew, Veronica Kastelic and Zoie Willeke all had two hits and homered. Ryleigh Wehler also had two hits.

The Sailors improved to 20-11 on the season.

BENZIE CENTRAL 4-10, HART 0-1 – The Pirates couldn’t get their bats going in a non-conference doubleheader.

Nicole Rockwell struck out eight on the mound in Game 1 while Kasey Unger had a double at the plate. In Game 2, Sam Witteveen hit a solo homer for Hart.

SHELBY 7-11, BIG RAPIDS 12-7 –  The Tigers split a non-conference doubleheader with the Cardinals.

Tori Mussell and Julia Church led the Shelby attack in Game 1 with three hits apiece.

In Game 2, Kayla Eilers picked up the victory for the Tigers, striking out three and allowing just two hits. Sharone Josephson led the way at the plate with three hits and three RBIs.

Shelby is now 9-13 on the year.

WEST MICHIGAN D

BIG RAPIDS CROSSROADS 15-8, PENTWATER 2-4 – The Falcons dropped a conference doubleheader against the Cougars.

In Game 1, Taylor Ruggles had a double at the plate for Pentwater. In the nightcap, Jhordan Miller-Rowe paced the Falcon batters with three hits.

Pentwater fell to 3-12 overall and 3-7 in conference play.
