Wednesday girls soccer roundup: Shelby shuts out Montague; WMC edges Fruiport; Fremont falls

Amy England netted a hat trick to lead Shelby to a 3-0 win over Montague on Wednesday.

The Tigers are now 10-6-1 (5-5) on the year and finished fifth in the WMC. The Wildcats took sixth in the WMC.

Bryghton Lee and Sophie Clark each had an assist for Shelby.

Kate Hammond scored Montague’s only goal.

WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 1, FRUITPORT 0 – The Warriors finished their regular season with a tight win over Fruitport. WMC is 10-10 on the year, while Fruitport falls to 9-6-1. Emily Rosema scored the game’s only goal. Ashlyn Lane was in goal for the shutout with several saves.
Madalyn Felt had a save for Fruitport. The Trojans outshot WMC 20-3.

TRI-COUNTY 3, FREMONT 0 – The Packers couldn’t get it going offensively in a Wednesday loss to Tri-County. Fremont is 10-8-1 on the year.¬†Lexie Luchies made five saves for the Packers.
