The Whitehall tennis team, which recently won the Greater Muskegon Athletic Association City Tournament, shut down Coopersville 8-0 on Thursday in non-conference action.

Three Whitehall singles players won their matches in straight sets – Vanessa Heylmun (No. 1), Kenedy Woodring (No. 3) and Lauren Schneider No. 4. Rylee Woodring, the Vikings’ No. 2 singles player, rallied to win her match in a three-set tiebreaker, 4-6, 6-4, 7-6.

Three Whitehall doubles teams – Brooke Bachelder and Brooke Sheesley  (No. 1), McKenna Hepler and Jaden Mikkelson (No. 2), and Morgan DeRose and Lily Groessl (No. 4) all won in straight sets. The Vikings won the third flight match by default.
