The top-ranked North Muskegon girls soccer team advanced down the state tournament path on Tuesday by defeating Saginaw Valley Lutheran 3-0 in Division 4 regional semifinals at Cadillac High School.

The game was scoreless at halftime, then the Norse took control with three second-half goals. Sophia Mueller scored twice, Abby Grevel scored once, while Megan Stroka, Gwenna Pitts and Hope Johnson had assists.

Goalkeepers Bodie Collins and Evyn Johnson combined for the shutout.

North Muskegon, now 20-0, will face Elk Rapids in the regional final on Thursday at 6 p.m in Cadillac.
