Three area players have been named first-team All-State selections by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.
Matt Felt of Shelby was a first-team pick in Division 3 while Riley St. Amour of Muskegon Catholic and Dalton Giddings of Holton were Division 4 selections.
Earning second-team All-State honors were TJ Ruel of Oakridge (Division 2); Brandan Redding of Ravenna, Jimmy Cobb of North Muskegon and Brennan Schwarz of Montague (Division 3); and Max Price of Muskegon Catholic (Division 4).
Sorry to say but all-state honors are nothing but a joke. If you’re not one of the favorites you get no push help from your coach. They pitch you against the crap teams to allow you to get your wins and numbers up there and then when big games come along you don’t pitch at all. It’s a complete shame that there are certain kids to get left out of this!
